Privacy Policy
The Capitol Center for the Arts is committed to protecting your privacy. It is our intent to balance our business interests with your expectations of privacy. This policy explains how we protect your personal information and how it is used.
The Information We Collect and How We Use It
We are required to collect certain information on our website when you order tickets or make a contribution, but we also request additional information so that we can tailor the online experience to your likes and dislikes. You have the option of indicating your interest preferences (jazz, dance, etc.) and we use that information to suggest performances you may be interested in and to mail you relevant information. You may choose not to submit this information. You may also tailor your email and mail preferences to identify how you would like us to communicate with you.
When purchasing tickets or a membership, you will be asked for your credit card number, expiration date, and CVV code. This information is encrypted in our database (see Security section below). We also collect your personal information such as your name and address which is required to make a ticket purchase or a contribution.
The Capitol Center utilizes the information you provide (including your ticket buying history) to promote our own activities, and you have the right to opt out of any or all of these forms of communication at any time.
Information Shared With Third Parties
The Capitol Center does not sell or rent names, postal addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses. Organizations that sell tickets through the Capitol Center Box Office do receive this information on their ticket buyers upon request. The Capitol Center is not responsible for any actions or offers sent by these organizations, but our partner not-for-profits do adhere to similar policies. We will not forward any information to them if patron permission has been denied.
The Capitol Center never shares donor lists.
Security of Your Information
When you purchase tickets or make a contribution to the Capitol Center we collect your credit card number, expiration date, and CVV code. Your credit card number and expiration date are encrypted in our database (using SSL technology for online transactions), and we never store the CVV code. Your credit card data is masked in our system (XXXXXXXXXXXX1234) and is viewable only by the people who have a need to know the full number, such as our finance department, in reference to a specific transaction only. Box office agents and other personnel cannot access this data.
Information is stored under physical, electronic, or procedural controls under standards established by the credit card industry. We participate in a security program which requires us to meet specific security measures to protect your credit card information. The software that we use is compliant with these regulations. These security measures are put in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of your account information.
